Poland can become the no 1 producer in coming season
Due to big problems of Serbian raspberry producers Poland can be the biggest producer of raspberries this season. Huge water flooding, that hit Serbia plus rains storms can decrees dramatically farm production in Serbia
Situation in Poland also is not the best one, especially while predicting huge rains but far far better than in Serbia.
Poland has become the world's largest raspberry producer. In 2012, the total volume of raspberries produced in Poland reached 127,000 metric tons. About 90 percent of Poland's raspberry production is exported. In 2013 it was 7 % more. What will happen in the season 2014?
For many years the production volume of Polish raspberries stood at some 50,000 tons annually, but it has recently increased significantly. Last year Polish producers harvested 140,000 tons of raspberries. One of the main growth factors was the introduction of the “Polana” variety, which yields fruit for several months of the year. Thanks to the new raspberry type, Poland managed to become the biggest raspberries producer in Europe
