IQF - Fruit Season 2012 in Poland

On Polish territory has completely ended the soft fruit season, and the first frosts are proof of this. Both the processing companies and farmers can probably be counted a success in spite of unfavorable weather forecasts and even fatal in early May.

At the beginning the hit of this season:

Cherry without stone: current asking prices are at a level of 2.00 EUR / kg and there is no indication that they were to fall. On the contrary. Producers' expectations are even higher, assuming the store for the new year. Quantities of Cherries in Poland are limited, and I estimate that only a few companies can still offer this product

Raspberries. Price on crumbled one is +/- 1.30 EUR / kg. Raspberry extra 4x2, 5 offered per 2.00 EUR / kg. Raspberries in Poland are still relatively high in both the finished product, which semi product. Good quality for the purpose of blank EXTRA can be purchased in Poland per 1.55 EUR / kg. But companies are reluctant to offering this product. Due to the disastrous situation in Serbia (drought destroyed 80% of raspberries), the main competitor for the Polish processors, manufacturers expect a much higher price level after the new year. Interviews suggest that the Polish producers will offer the price level 2.30 up to 2.50 EUR / kg for the 4x2, 5 kg. Of course, I have not met a situation that any of the companies importing of Polish raspberry accept this level, but no one accepts the price 2,00 EUR / kg in June also. In my opinion, the suggested price levels 2,30 - 2,50 EUR / kg are very possible. It should be recalled that last year's price was on the level 1,30 EUR / kg for the 4x2, 5 kg

Cherry and raspberry were certainly hits this season. Those, who invest in these fruits now collecting profits.

Other fruit
Prices of other soft fruits are at the levels:
Red Currant - 0.90 EUR / kg
Black currant - 1.10 EUR / kg
Gooseberry - 1.60 EUR / kg
Rhubarb - 0.40 EUR / kg
Plum halves - 0.90 EUR / kg

Strawberry: It is unfortunately still a problem for Polish producers of frozen fruits. Is offered at all times when around 1.70 EUR / kg and all the time there are not the buyers. There are still lots of strawberries in Polish cold stores. What caused this situation? In my panic, which overcomes the producers at the beginning of May? Everyone predict minimum harvest, destroy fruit by early frosts and a very high demand of foreign markets. Meanwhile, it is true collections were lower, but not as much as in previous years. Those who want to buy strawberries bought it. For this imposed a price war between imported Chinese Zenaga and South America and Egyptian Camorossa resulted in significant reductions in prices for strawberries. Camorossa price is about 1.40 EUR / kg and the price of Zenga imported from China is about 1.00 EUR / kg

But from interviews with producers due to the soft fruit season in 2012 saw as successful compared to previous years
